The duration of the study is approximately 30 minutes. You can stop and continue at any time but your results will only be valid if you complete the full study.

Instructions

You will be shown a series of images with various skin spots. For the purpose of this study, pretend these skin spots are present on your own body. For each spot imagine the following scenario:

The spot has been present on your body for a while. Recently, a friend noticed it and told you that it looks weird. After their remark you decided to search the internet for information about skin conditions and conclude that the spot might be a form of skin cancer. Specifically, you think it might be Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) or Actinic Keratosis (AK). Before going to the dermatologist you decide to use a self-diagnosis tool.

During this study you will be using such a tool which specifically diagnoses BCC and AK. You will diagnose 3 different spots and after each diagnosis you will be asked a few questions.

The self-diagnoses tool might ask questions you don't have the answer to by simply looking at an image. For example, it might ask if the spot itches. In those cases answer based on your best judgement and imagination.
